Nicole is the sole owner and maker at Harriet Handmade Co. (named after her cat), and all of her pieces are 100% handmade. She is fully self-taught, and her focus is crafting macrame, sewn, knit and crochet accessories and home decor. Her creative journey started with hand-sewing doll clothes as a child and has since blossomed into opening her own shops on Etsy and Faire Wholesale as well as another mini storefront in her home state of Indiana. Nicole is also a nurse, and she finds that crafting and working with her hands to be a great change of pace and creative outlet.

Her one-of-a-kind wool felted bags are created with a lot of wool, one circular knitting needle, a very sturdy washing machine and lots of love. She loves explaining the process that transforms skeins of wool yarn into a beautiful piece of art. Custom orders are always welcome.

Painting with bees wax and pigments, otherwise known as ENCAUSTICS, Lori allows for the creation of layers of color, texture and depth. Layers of the wax and pigment mixture create an interesting canvas from which to carve and sculpt the wax, and make it the perfect medium for collage. Lori’s pieces often use positive words of encouragement, as we all could use a little reminder of what is good and beautiful in this world!
